ScroogeXHTML for the Java(tm) platform is a JavaBean(tm) which can convert RTF stored in files or strings to HTML and XHTML. It is fast, easy to customize and use and includes the full source code. Unicode conversion allows international documents, including simplified and traditional Chinese, Korean and Japanese. CSS and default font settings allow to create optimized documents. Supported output document types are XHTML 1.0 Strict and Transitional, XHTML 1.1, XHTML Basic, XHTML Mobile Profile 1.0, HTML 4.01 Strict and Transitional. ScroogeXHTML converts text attributes including background and highlight colors, paragraph attributes including text alignment (left, right, centered, justified), left/right/first line indents and simple (numbered/unnumbered) lists. In combination with CSS support, default font property settings allow to create very small output documents. A hyperlink detection mode, which is based on text attributes, allows to process hyperlinks. Many options are available to control the HTML header. The bean includes the full source code and unlimited updates. ScroogeXHTML also supports for right-to-left languages, language attributes (lang=".."), Double Byte Character Set strings in font names. The demo application includes an executable JAR file with the demo application (can be used to convert RTF files to XHTML) and an example RTF file. Requires Java Runtime Environment 1.3 or higher. Note: this demo can not be installed as a JavaBean. It can only be used to convert existing RTF files. Also available is ScroogeXHTML for Delphi(tm).
